Confirmed. help.launchpad.net/SpecTemplate doesn't exist, and wiki.canoncial.com/SpecTemplate requires a username and password. wiki.ubuntu.com/SpecTemplate does exist, so perhaps that was the intention.

I've put a note on the page itself that it needs clean-up.

Hi,

I just came from https://help.launchpad.net/WritingGoodSpecifications
that says: "This page needs your help! Can you help ensure the information on this page is accurate? If so, please make the changes directly in the page." and referred to this bug. But even when logged in on help.launchpad.net I cannot modify the page (or any other).

So, in that page, this link is ok:
  [[http://wiki.ubuntu.com/SpecTemplate|Ubuntu Specification Template]]<<BR>>
This link is not:
  [[http://wiki.launchpad.canonical.com/SpecTemplate|Launchpad Specification Template]]

The host wiki.launchpad.canonical.com. no longer exists.
Google results for "+Launchpad +SpecTemplate" suggest that the missing page was not simply moved but no longer exists. I found some wiki pages linking to the one at wiki.ubuntu.com, not the other.

In this situation, it seems that the page will be better after removing this dangling link (page history is kept anyway).

Thank you for your attention.

Hello again I deleted this link.
http://wiki.launchpad.canonical.com/SpecTemplate|Launchpad Specification Template

this is a bad link for two reasons

1. It should be
http://wiki.canonical.com/SpecTemplate

2. It goes to a place most can not access.
If the template is needed can someone give me a copy I will put it up on help.launchpad.net so we can see it.
IMHO if we don't have access to this it might be good to let it be. You don't want everyone that views the page to
to keep trying to log into canonical do we?

Leo Jackson

We do not want to link to a private wiki from launchpad's help. That is why I removed the link. If you feel this template is good, move it to a public wiki

Curtis,

Hello
I see what you mean not to link to Ubuntu so I will create a Spec for launchpad directly so we can connect to it and view for Good spec creating if that works.

Leo Jackson
