Bug Description

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher-efl

I'm running UNE Lucid on my mini9 so I understand that my hardware might be a bit lacking but today I noticed that the text (category and icon label) and icons changed size.

Here's a video showing the before: http://vimeo.com/10816076

And a screenshot from today: http://ubuntuone.com/p/oB/

Being so close to release, it was odd to see these things change so I thought somebody needed to know.

This problem is also affecting me on a Toshiba nb205 after upgrade to 10.04. Big fonts and icons, and the icons which were not designed for that resolution are all pixelated.

Somehow (and ive no idea how as this notebook has an intel graphics chipset) the nvidia drivers got installed during the upgrade to lucid from karmic. After fixing the drivers, the graphics went back to normal. This may not solve the Op's issue, but i thought id post this here incase.

sudo apt-get purge nvidia*
sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-video-intel libgl1-mesa-glx libgl1-mesa-dri xserver-xorg-core
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
sudo update-alternatives --remove gl_conf /usr/lib/nvidia-current/ld.so.conf
sudo reboot

sorry should also add that i checked the OP's netbook model has the same graphics chipset as my netbook and confirmed that to be the case.

I would like to confirm that i also have the same problem, huge icons and fonts in netbook-launcher-efl, in Ubuntu netbook 10.10.

Same as comment #6, I'm running the netbook 2d session with netbook-launcher-efl since Unity doesn't perform very well. Huge icons and text, but also misaligned icons and text in the categories column at the left side.

On a eeepc running maverick and efl-0.3.2-0ubuntu4 still an issue with big font size too. Missing the ability to change fontsize at all! efl seems to be the only alternative to unity so please fix this bug!
