Bug Description

If you encounter either of these issues, both have the same underlying cause.

If you are able to log into Landscape but cannot access the old dashboard through the **Old dashboard** link, please log out using the **Sign out** button, and log back in. You should be able to navigate to the old dashboard upon re-authentication.

If you are unable to log into Landscape SaaS at all, please clear local storage, and in particular clear the `_landscape_auth` token. For example, on the Chrome browser:

- Open the Google Chrome Console by pressing **F12** or by right clicking and selecting **Inspect**
- Select **Application** in the console’s top menu.
- Select **Local Storage** in the console’s left menu.
- Delete the `_landscape_auth` token.

Options to clear cookies and cached data should also delete this token.

Most logins will automatically redirect you to the old dashboard. If you'd like to continue trying the new dashboard, you may navigate there at `landscape.canonical.com/new_dashboard/overview`.

The fix of getting to the old dashboard is only a temporary fix. After some time of inactivity I have to do the logout-login-clickOldDashboard sequence again.

Is this known?

Hi Charlee,

We are aware that the fix is temporary. We are working to get an updated release out ASAP that will address any issues accessing the old dashboard.

Best,

Spencer

Relatedly, will the new dashboard also feature a "Monitoring" page, e.g., for RAM, temperature, etc.? I can't see that on the new dashboard. I know this is not related to this bug, but I can't seem to Ask a Question on this launchpad page.

Dear Spencer,

Thank you :) Getting pretty tired of the logout-olddasboard loop >10 times a day :D

Charlee

P.S you are probably aware, but in case not: your old dashboard UI regularly returns server errors, hopefully the new dashboard is there to partially resolve such instabilities.

Hi Charlee,

We are aware - thank you for your note! We will be rolling out an update to restore the old dashboard as the default experience as soon as we can.

Hi Martin,

The new dashboard doesn't quite have feature parity with the old dashboard yet. If you have product questions/discussions, I'd recommend the discourse as a good place to post those: https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/about-the-landscape-category/23069

Best,

Dear Spencer
Thanks for the reply, from which I infer that there WILL be feature parity in the feature. :)

Hi Charlee and Martin,

We released a fix for this in our most recent update to SaaS. Please let us know if you continue to have any trouble accessing the old dashboard.

We are aware that the new dashboard sometimes renders ("flickers") before redirecting back to the old dashboard - this will be corrected.

@Martin, yes we are planning to have feature parity between the new and old dashboard in the future. The look and feel may change a bit - if you have strong opinions about certain features, please share them with us in the discourse :)

Best,

Spencer
