Bug Description
AptFacade currently doesn't work on hardy, since the python-apt API has changed quite a lot since then. We need to either make AptFacade compatible with old versions of python-apt, or make sure that SmartFacade is always used on hardy.
It was decided that hardy will use SmartFacade, since that's easiest and hardy will be EOL in a year and a half.
