Bug Description

http://www.kubuntu.org/feature-tour#feature-tour-apps-internet

includes:

Surf the Internet safely
Kubuntu comes pre-installed with Konqueror, the KDE web browser, keeping you safe on your online adventures. Konqueror is a fast, lightweight browser with all the features you've come to expect.

and:

Complete and professional office suite
Create professional documents, spreadsheets and presentations with OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice.org is compatible with all office applications including Microsoft Office. The big difference is that OpenOffice.org is free (and promises never to introduce Mr. Clippy).

The first should refer to reknoq, and the second should refer to LibreOffice, unless you skip that and go straight to Calligra.

Can volunteers edit these pages themselves?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1037148/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Ubuntu Foundation's Bug Bot sent me an e-mail strongly suggesting I select a Package. I hope kubuntu-docs is better than nothing.

The website is badly maintained for various reasons. The contact for the features page is inside the theme which is in bzr at

If you would like to update it that would be great. Do join IRC #kubuntu-devel to say hi and ask for any help

Marco,

What makes you think, say and write that Rekonq is secure and fast? It is lightweight but is it faster or as fast as others?,.. is it as secure as mainstream browsers like Firefox, Opera and Chrome?

I'm stil skeptical about all this.

My primary goal was to simply remove the obsolete references to Konqueror and Open Office. Those references are objective bugs. If I get better with my editing, I will then update the obsolete images which will be noticed by sharp-eyed readers. As far the subjective elements of the marketing pitch for Kubuntu applications ... that might not be my strength.

For me, I find rekonq faster than Konqueror and IE, and safer than IE because it does not bundle ActiveX or Flash.
I know Chrome claims to sandbox Flash, but that is less safe than never installing it in the first place.
