the volume displayed in the small kmix panel window doesnt change (4.7.95)

when i click on the kmix icon in the system tray a small window pops up showing one horizontal scrollbar. when i move the mouse over it and use the scroll wheel of the mouse i can hear that the volume is beeing adjusted, but the display in this small window doesnt change. clicking or dragging the bar works ok.
