Update to 11.10 lockup

Bug Description
Hi there
I tried to run the update to 11.10 from within my well used settled down kubuntu 11.04.
All went well til at 71%, 16 mins remaining while doing 'Configuring friendly recovery' the process stopped dead. I can however still look up and down the list, resize the window and start up other programs although the internet is down (wireless network still up). So obviously the computer is not locked fully, just the update. See a copy of the last few lines at the end of this.
Question is, what do I do to get out of this. When trying to close out I get a warning about kubuntu probably being unstabel, which I can uderstand..
