Bug Description
Kdenlive 15.04.0 crashes on startup as reported by several users:

This is caused by MLT which is a dependency for Kdenlive.
Kdenlive 15.04.x requires to have MLT compiled against Qt5, not Qt4.
The backport PPA does not contain an updated MLT package, so it uses Ubuntu's default on, based onQt4 causing the crash.
To make Kdenlive work would require to publish a Qt5 package of MLT, like the one available in CI:

There have been many changes in Kubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Kubuntu version. If you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
