Bug Description
Plasma 5 crashes while usage randomly in kubuntu utopic on dual screen, so that the outer edges of both screens become gray and nothing is clickable any more. There is no interaction possible any more.
This behavior is not dediatedly reproducable, nevertheless it occurs approximately 5 times a working day and is somewhat "recoverable" by issuing a 'service sddm restart' on a tty. Apport does not recognize the crash.
Unfortunately I am not aware where to start hunting that bug and would be glad to help as good as I can.

There have been many changes in Kubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Kubuntu version. If you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect 1425957
and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
