kdenlive 0.9.10 hangs allways under Kubuntu Trusty Tahr (14.04 LTS)

I've installed kdenlive under Kubuntu Trusty Tahr with this commands from the PPA:

sudo apt-get install libmlt4 libmlt-data libmlt++3 python-mlt3 melt

After the start with an empty project i added a video (DV-PAL 1h:37') in the clip-area from an external usb-drive.
It lasts about five minutes, while the audio thumbnail is created. After that the clip can be viewed in it's monitor window.

If i stop playing, and point with the cursor on the clip timeline to a further point (e.g. 30' after startpoint) kdenlive hangs for about 10 minutes; it seems as if the usb-disk behaves like a videotape that has to be wound forward.

There is no further message in the terminal window, where i started kdenlive (in debug-mode) with the command:

I'm struggling with that problem for a month now, but won't give up trying to get kdenlive running;

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Kubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Kubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Kubuntu version. If you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect 1414462

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
