Bug Description
Updating to KDE 4.9 seems to uninstall muon. This happened with automatic install of recommended packages set to off, but I don't know if this is related. Strangely there was no notice of this happening in the list of changing packages. Reinstalling after the update using apt-get fixed the problem for now.

I just experienced this as well. For reference, the full list of packages removed in the upgrade is: selector- kde widget- facebook widget- veromix kde-resource- googledata properties- kde
* userconfig
* language-
* kubuntu-desktop
* plasma-
* muon
* kthesaurus
* muon-installer
* usb-creator-kde
* apt-url-kde
* libkdegames5a
* plasma-
* akregator
* kde-config-touchpad
* akonadi-
* software-
* muon-updater
* jockey-kde
* libmuonprivate1
* apport-kde
* muon-notifier
Reinstalling kubuntu-desktop restored most of these packages.
I don't know if it was related, but during the upgrade the process choked on libtemplateparser4, but on the second attempt the upgrade completed successfully.
