Bug Description

If an cinder volume has at least one snapshot, it is not possible to restore a backup from this volume.

1. create volume
2. create a snapshot for this volume
3. backup the volume
4. restore the backup to a new volume
5. try to use the restored volume for an instance

The last step fails with an error like this:

File /var/lib/cinder/mnt/8b45b5c7d2aecb4ab8e8561a0f8
09383/volume-ca4f27ef-1aaf-4ce1-9405-b7561b397cf5 has invalid backing file /var/lib/cinder/mnt/8b45b5c7d2aecb4ab8e8561a0f809383/volume-78ee3d0b-4217-4117-8835-34f97c99005f

I use the latest Ansible-Kolla installation (source) and use NFS for Cinder-Volume and Cinder-Backup.

Does this bug still occur on latest code?
If yes - please upload:
- cinder logs from /var/log/kolla/cinder/*
- docker logs cinder_*
- cinder configuration from /etc/kolla/config/cinder*

Hi,

sorry for the late answer.

We can't test this anymore, because we changed our storage backend.

I will close the issue.
