Need a way to select between linuxbridge and ovs as our agent via the kolla start script.

Via the kolla start script? I disagree strongly there. This is a configuration detail for sure which requires this change to be in a configuration file.

For the ansible deployment parts this will be handled via a config option in globals.yml

Are you refering only to the kolla-compose side? If so please update the bug.

Ya kolla start script may not be the appropriate place - I prefer your suggestion of having a configuration variable in the globals.yml file. Often I file bugs like these to keep track of todo items, so they are lacking in detail or are technically incorrect. We still do require some way to select between OVS and linuxbridge (and possibly other ml2 agents).

As far as kolla compose, I'd be satisified with just only offering linuxbridge, since we already have that implemented and we I believe had agreed in one of our team meetings to do functional gate testing using ansible AIO.

config-internal support was removed so this bug only applies to config-external (ansible in our case). Since ovs vs linuxbridge is selectable, marking as fix committed.
