Bug Description

in the quickstart guide for Train release (Kolla-ansible 9.x) the user can choose Linux distribution. https://docs.openstack.org/kolla-ansible/latest/user/quickstart.html

But this is not entirely true. If I have understand it correctly, it needs to be the same as the operating system running on the server/host. Things like openvswitch, libvirt+qemu+kvm may brake.

Then comes the question why not just automatically detect what the user is running on the host at chose that for kolla_base_distro?

It has been like this since forever but I am open to proposals.

This should be the best practice, not the must. I've used rocky with centos on ubuntu hosts for a long while without errors.
