When building a 1.9.9-1ubuntu1:
running build_scripts
creating /tmp/buildd/
copying and adjusting bin/kiwi-i18n -> /tmp/buildd/
copying and adjusting bin/kiwi-ui-test -> /tmp/buildd/
changing mode of /tmp/buildd/

Can't confirm this here. It builds fine. Possibly it's missing a build-dep that I have installed and you don't?
