Basic version/system information:
pplication: kicad
Version: 4.0.7+dfsg1-
wxWidgets: Version 3.0.4 (debug,
Platform: Linux 4.15.0-70-generic x86_64, 64 bit, Little endian, wxGTK
Boost version: 1.65.1
Curl version: libcurl/7.58.0 OpenSSL/1.1.1 zlib/1.2.11 libidn2/2.0.4 libpsl/0.19.1 (+libidn2/2.0.4) nghttp2/1.30.0 librtmp/2.3
This problem only occurs in the schematic editor (see attached screenshot)...does not appear in the pcb editor. The mouse pointer/crosshairs (both types) paints the editor workspace making it impossible to work with. It can be cleared with a refresh but immediately repeats.
This was a known issue with the 4.0 version. It has been fixed in later versions, so please upgrade to the latest 5.1.5 version. It looks like you are using Ubuntu, so you can follow the instructions here: http:// kicad-pcb. org/download/ ubuntu/ to install the latest if the Ubuntu repository does not have it.
