Bug Description

I downloaded Kicad today (11/14/19) and got involved with the schematic. The position on the cursor is shown with a plus sign...BUT as I move the cursor, the plus signs just follow the position and it is just plain useless. I can't find a way to get rid of the unwanted plus signs no matter what I try. The problem is the same on 2 different operating systems ; linux mint 19 on a 32bit system and also on a 64 bit system running a ryzen processor (amd) . If I keep moving the mouse, the screen will be filled up with plus signs !

Don't see the connection... attached is a screenshot of the problem.

Thanks,

This issue has been resolved by KiCad 5.1. If your distribution does not provide this, you will need to either download from another source or use a distribution that is officially supported.

Note that Mint is not officially supported and the Mint project does not maintain a KiCad release and there are some issues using Ubuntu packages. However, we provide some best-effort guidelines here: http://kicad-pcb.org/download/linux-mint/

Please report issues upstream to Linux Mint for this issue.

First , thanks for your help ! BUT.... The version I downloaded from Linux
mint was 4.0.7 . I tried to uninstall it and then install 5.1.4 . It
installed , but has no symbols (or the libraries) so basically can do
nothing. Both of my systems respond the same way (LM 19 (32 bit , and LM
19.1 APEX 64 bit ) . I have tried to delete everything but must have missed
something because it still remembers what I was working on yesterday .

Thanks,
Larry

The KiCad project provides some basic instructions at http://kicad-pcb.org/download/linux-mint/

The user forum is also a good place to request usage support: https://forum.kicad.info/

Linux Mint is not a supported distribution. http://kicad-pcb.org/help/system-requirements/#_gnulinux
