Hot keys take precedence while typing in filter text field

While using the Symbol editor typing in the filter text box takes precedence over typed text such as the letter 'p' which is a default hot key.

@eelik your bug has been set to fix released in 5.1.0-rc2. The bug i linked is reproducible in 5.1.4 and currently in the 5.1.5 milestone (i kind of suspect it will be moved to 5.1.6).

The one i linked is windows specific so my guess is yours was fixed but the fix does not work on windows. (or there was a regression sometime between 5.1.0-rc2 and 5.1.4)

We really need to fix this. This bug exists several places. It appears that something (probably the canvas) is steeling the character input from the filter text edit control.

I just checked an this particular bug does not affect the 5.1 branch so it's definitely a regression.

There's some confusion somewhere, or not enough information. Some say this happens with 5.1, some say it doesn't. I can reproduce this with 5.99 but not with 5.1.4+ (on Windows 10).
