Clipboard empty when copying between instances in Eeschema

[KiCad bug report]

When having two instances of KiCad open at the same time, it is not possible to copy components, connections... from the Eeschema in one instance to the other instance. The OS's clipboard seems to be empty when using standard copy-cut-paste functionality (edit-menu, ⌘-C, ⌘-X, ⌘-V).
Is KiCad using an internal pointer, instead of the OS's clipboard, or is this only an issue on MAC OS ?
