Layout canvas uses only 1/4 of the window

Just added 5.1 PPA then after installing, I've opened some layout that was working on 5.0 5.0.1 5.0.2, then I saw that the layout windows is weird. See the attached image. I enabled the grid to show what is happening.

HDI monitors may need GDK_SCALE=1 set.

Seth, that fixed the issue, but the whole program is so small. How can I increase the font size a little bit?

The whole UI looks terrible to use. The fonts are small, the icons are small. The settings should change the icons size, but they won't change actually. Should I reopen the program to see any effect?? I am trying it but nothing changes.

You may need to use X11 instead of wayland. I'm not sure that all of the settings transition.

Ok so I will try to test it at my home. Currently I don't have any system
with the X11 working. They stopped to work on my computers since Ubuntu
18.04
