Bug Description

KiCad (5.0.1)-4

Symbol library editor is extremely slow when moving a symbol.

In detail, when creating a new symbol with its pins, if everything is selected and objects are moved, every part of the symbol disappears and is redrawn (pins, symbol rectangle, refdes, part number). The whole redrawing operation takes almost a second, making any symbol drag almost impossible.

The same happens similarly in eeschema when moving/rotating elements.

PCB/Gerber editors work fine and seem to correctly use hardware acceleration.

System is Windows 10, 64 bit
Intel i7 / GeForce GTX 960m
16 GB RAM

I'm assuming this only happens with large symbols like the FPGA or micro-controller symbols unless you have a really slow computer. I don't see anything quite this severe which the most complex symbols but I have a fairly fast computer. This is not going to be fixed in the 5.0 branch because it already has been fixed in the development branch for the upcoming 5.1 release.
