As some experiment, I made a prototype integration of https://github.com/vygr/C-PCB into KiCad:

https://github.com/pointhi/kicad-source-mirror/tree/autorouter_c-pcb

pcbnew -> <Right Click on empty space> -> "Autoroute Board"

Please note this is far from production ready, more like a hack :D.

Do you know if the C-PCB autorouter is usable (at all) for more complex boards?

I can easily benchmark it against frerouting if somebody uploads some sample spectra DSN.
