Bug Description

Application: kicad
Version: 5.0.0-fee4fd1~66~ubuntu18.04.1, release build
Libraries:
    wxWidgets 3.0.4
    libcurl/7.58.0 OpenSSL/1.1.0g zlib/1.2.11 libidn2/2.0.4 libpsl/0.19.1 (+libidn2/2.0.4) nghttp2/1.30.0 librtmp/2.3
Platform: Linux 4.15.0-36-generic x86_64, 64 bit, Little endian, wxGTK
Build Info:
    wxWidgets: 3.0.4 (wchar_t,wx containers,compatible with 2.8) GTK+ 2.24
    Boost: 1.65.1
    OpenCASCADE Community Edition: 6.9.1
    Curl: 7.58.0
    Compiler: GCC 7.3.0 with C++ ABI 1011

Build settings:
    USE_WX_GRAPHICS_CONTEXT=OFF
    USE_WX_OVERLAY=OFF
    KICAD_SCRIPTING=ON
    KICAD_SCRIPTING_MODULES=ON
    KICAD_SCRIPTING_WXPYTHON=OFF

    KICAD_USE_OCC=OFF
    KICAD_SPICE=ON

I am using a Cannon PIXMA iX6820 color ink jet printer that can handle wide (11 inch) paper. I am trying to get a printout of an ANSI/ASME size B Eeschema schematic diagram that I have entered. I am able to get a printout but it is not as advertised. I set the printer up for tabloid paper size (ANSI/ASME size B paper), landscape view, gray scale, and black ink. The preview shows the whole schematic but the printout is only the right hand side upper portion, no title block.

If I specify portrait view the preview shows the whole schematic in vertical fashion, instead of horizontal fashion, but the printout is squeezed into the “top” half of the page. This time I get about 3/4 of the schematic starting at the left side of the schematic and ending with just a little bit of the title block on the right side.

Will Plot work for you? The printing stuff goes through the platform layer, which isn't one of wxWidgets' strong suits.

I am able to get a proper printout by doing a pdf, presumably this was through the "Plot" function.

Can you please check to see if the current nightly build still exhibits this behavior? The printing routines have been re-worked for v5.1 and this may have helped rectify the behavior you observed. FWIW, I do not observe this behavior currently in v5.1 under Debian stretch

 I don't know how to use the nightly builds or build KiCad from scratch, I am not a programmer, and I don't want to corrupt my KiCad v 5.0.2 that is working.--Larry

Please keep this bug report open, it is NOT fixed. I just tried to print my B size (11 x 17 inch) Eeschema schematic using KiCad V5.1.1 and it DIDN'T work on my Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS OS. The left 1/3 and the bottom 1/3 including the title block did not print.

I went to the "Page Setup" and picked Tabloid (11 x 17 inch), Landscape, and clicked on Apply. I went to the Preview and it is blank (all black). I then went to the Print preview and it shows okay. However, what I see is not what I get.
