First of all I'd like to thank everyone working on KiCad, it's come a long way and while it's still got some rough edges I'm impressed how much it has improved over the last few years.
As the import of whole Eagle projects including symbols and the manual import of footprints from .lbr files works rather well I'm wondering why it's not yet possible to also import symbols from .lbr files. Please excuse me if I simply missed this fuctionality, but I've been looking around for some time and couldn't find it.
Because Eagle has been the main EDA for hobbyist and semiprofessional use until their recent licensing stunt, there are a lot more publicly available libraries for Eagle than for KiCad.
Similarly many former Eagle users have created quiet a collection of Eagle libraries so one could safe a lot of time currently used to recreate existing symbols.
Please add version info.
