Bug Description

Problem: KiCad 4.0.7 (installed from Ubuntu PPA) crashes, when i start pcbnew or footprint editor.

Reproducibility: always

Steps to reproduce: Start KiCAD -> start pcbnew or pcb fotprint editor

I use 4.0.7 from the Ubuntu PPA (Update showed up today 25.07.2017).

Console Output:
The program 'kicad' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 8333 error_code 2 request_code 154 minor_code 24)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Does glxgears runs correctly on your system?

Maybe it is a graphics driver issue.

It sounds like this bug has been resolved. Should we tag it as fix committed or invalid?

It is the same kicad version, do I think it os external to kicad. I guess invalid would be the most correct status here.
