trash in gerber & 3-d, but not on pcbnew

Bug Description
PCBNEW shows the correct views, but the 3-d viewer AND the gerber outputs show 5 or so vertical lines on the back copper layer that are not on pcbnew.
I have 2 projects that this happens on, and they started as copies of each other.
I deleted the pcb file, and there are junk elements shown in 3-d(and I assume gerber)......if I start a new project, there is no junk.
If I move the layout in pcbnew, the lines/junk stays in the same place. I can send yopu whatever files you wish, including the entire project file......
I'm using only the current, stable release 4.02, running on windows 10.
If youy need any more data, please let me know.
