Can your "firewall" think not report any more dianostic info that can actually be used to pinpoint the issue?

Could you check 4.0.4 and the latest nightlies?

both nightly builds fail to pass my firewall, for 4.04

kicad-product-4.0.4-i686.exe also failed,
kicad-product-4.0.4-x86_64.exe appears to be OK.

I'll ping my IT guy to see if he can get any further diagnostics for the error.

$10 says your firewall is an over-protective dumb annoying thing :)

I had the same issue with 4.0.5 at my work place. I have no control over it, despite my being a pretty squeaky wheel; and it took about two weeks to get the IT company to temporarily remove the block for me. It is definitely over-protective, dumb, and annoying!

But, in any case, can you guys look into it somehow? I hate to say "please do it" when I know you're really busy making such an awesome(!) open-source project. I wish I could help more, but the only data I can provide is that I got the same Anti-virus note that Nate reported above.

Thanks!!
Robert

Do you have the same sonicwall device? as the best we (or anyone) could do would be report it to sonicwall and tell them to fix it, as its just a byte string in the file

Yes, I think it is exactly the same as Nate wrote above. It guess it is a national database that IT companies subscribe to(?). My local IT guy was apologetic but insisted there was not much he could do (which seems really silly to me...). Thanks!

can one of you submit to https://support.sonicwall.com/kb/sw7833 and hopefully the false positive can be fixed

I tried to get the info (to file a report) from our IT company, and did not get a single reply. I'm not sure how these people stay in business...

Anyway, the good news is that the ban appears to have been lifted. I can download both stable builds now.

Thanks!
