gerber data in Inches while set to mm

I've found that the gerber file data is in Inches instead of mm while the kicad is set to mm units and the gerber dialog is showing the information in mm.

I found that while inspecting the data file and it clearly shows G70 code in it.

It's a known issue. Code is already partially in place to solve it, we
need to decide the UI.

Where is the bug?
The choice between Inch and mm is only for user to display dimensions and sizes, and has nothing to do with the GERBER format (moreover gerber units can be different from a file to an other, and you can load 32 file).

He's referring to the unit of the generated gerbers... while you can for
example generate a drill in mm or inches (user choice), gerbers are
always plotted in inches. The gerber generator in fact can handle both
units but there is no option in the gui for it (and I'm too poor in wx
to touch that beast of the plot dialog)

Sorry, I did not understood that.
There is no option to switch between Imperial to Metric format in Pcbnew, and therefore the Gerber file is not expected to be in metric format, so the report is not understandable (it does not refer to Pcbnew).
Is it a Wishlist report, instead of bug report?
And Is it worth to add this option (what is the interest)?

Yes, I'd say it's wishlist

If you design in metric and plot in gerber there could be rounding
issues. However fabricator are usually smart enough to not reject
a board for DRC failures...

Gerber files are now always in mm, format 3.5 or 3.6.
