Bug Description

When a .rar archive is password protected, there is no way to extract it with ark.

Steps to reproduce with the service-menu (extract):
rightclick on the archive -> chose extract -> any of the extraction options (extract here or something else)
There appear two error messages, like described in bug #55788
and nothing else will happen.

If you open the archive directly with ark -> menu -> file -> open
you can see the files in the archive but, when extracting it the errormessage shown in the attached sreenshot appears.

I've attached a archive to test it, it was build with the command
"rar a -p"passwort" testarchiv.rar *"

kubuntu 7.04
kde 3.5.6
ark 2.6.4
RAR 3.70 beta 1

I can reproduce this with Kubuntu 7.10 and RAR 3.70 Beta 3.

Ark seems not involved. Unrar fails to extract these files also from command line.

It is really surprising, that unrar can't extract the files from command line.
Are you really sure?

I'm using same version of unrar and it works perfect. Sure that you used passwort as password.

Note: password != password
password == passwort

Sorry, unrar works from command line. It is unrar-free that has this problem. Reassign this bug to kdeutils.

I'm using the unfree version of unrar (1:3.7.3-1.1) and Ark doesn't ask for the password, too.

I am really amazed, this problem seems to be solved in Kubuntu Hardy Heron!

I just checked it with the attached testarchiv, and an multipart rar-archive and guess what: it works!

I will set this to fix-released. Please feel free to open a new Bugreport, when you are expecting any problems with an specific password-protected rar-archive.
