as stated on http:// lists.kde. org/?t= 111581271000001 &r=1&w= 2 the problem was that I was using an online imap folder, and not a disconnected one. maybe ubuntu could add a more meaningful messagebox like "This feature is supported only on disconnected IMAP accounts"?
