The same bahaviour also occurs whenever a menu, any menu, including the K menu and applications menus is open. Not to be outdoneby Susanne (#14), an example of when this is irritating is this:

1. Browse K menu to find an application.
2. Realise that this application might play sound and I don't want that right now.
3. Try pressing the volume control or mute buttons.
4. It does not work. Close menu, adjust volume, navigate menu again.
