Bug Description

Binary package hint: konqueror-kde4

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)"

konqueror-kde4:
  Installed: 4:4.0.2-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 4:4.0.2-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 4:4.0.2-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

If you open a text/plain file in Konqueror and go to e. g. a text/html website in the same tab afterwards, the website is displayed as text/plain, so you just see it's sourcecode.

Tested with <http://update.warsow.net/warsow_last_version.txt> and then <http://www.warsow.net/>.

Technically this behaviour is 100% correct, since you are using the kate KPart for showing the text file, and Konqueror doesn't switch KParts on its own. Also this issue wouldn't happen very often since the usual use case would be: click link to text file -> read text -> click back button.
Still this is a usability issue and should be reported upstream.

I agree that this is a usability issue, but I cannot agree on that this behaviour is technically correct. You are saying that Konqueror does not switch KParts on its own, but as far as I can tell, this is exactly what happens if you are on a normal website before and open a textfile.
