Bug Description

I don't know what I did but from now on I can't succeed to have the right screen resolution when my system starts.
Exactly, It seems resolution is right by the login step, then my profile is loaded and resolution becomes 640x480 though I forced my xorg.conf by putting only "Modes "1280x800" in the Screen Section.

I have to shell "xrandr --output default --mode 1280x800" so as to get the right one.

My problem must be linked to something wrong with my fglrx drivers, because now though aticonfig runs fine, I can't launch amdcccle (catalyst center) nor fglrxinfo, both return :
"X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
Serial number of failed request: 17
Current serial number in output stream: 17"

Then If I go in kubuntu monitor settings and then set the right resolution, It changes completely my xorg.conf and restarting the system leads to a login screen with the wrong resolution as well as a wrong resolution getting to the desktop.

My fglrx drivers comes from "ati-driver-installer-9-3-x86.x86_64.run"

Anyway, here are all the information about my system:

Well,

I figured out how to fix that :

there was a kdedisplayrc config file in my .kde folder (like .kde/share/app/config/)
I simply removed it, relogged and then the resolution was the same that the login screen one,
and the right one by the way.

Then, I checked and the file didn't event appear again.

In my case, It was eventually OK !

This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?

If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug
report in launchpad to 'Fix Released' if it is no longer an issue for
you, or if it is still occurring under natty, please tag the bug 'natty'
so it's easier for us to track.
