Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

Since upgrade to amarok 2.3.0, my collection keeps being empty (even after full rescan). This only happens if using the embedded database: using mysql-server works fine.

I use the following repository: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu karmic main

This report might be similar to bug #523269 but previous version was working fine for me.

This report is similar to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230916 and is also reported on http://www.kubuntu.org/news/amarok-2.3.0.

Installing the following packages seems to fix the problem for different people:

$ sudo apt-get install mysql-server libhtml-template-perl mysql-server-5.1 mysql-server-core-5.1

I've added the missing dependency on mysql, my appologies for the problem.
Version 2.3.0-0ubuntu1~karmic1~ppa2 should be appearing in the PPA soon

I had this issue too on Lucid with the version from your ppa, and the solution also works here. Can you thus also update the Lucid version?
