As an added note; it seems that the directory I'm in is also 'inherited' from the last active one.
So if I "cd /" and then create a new shell the new one doesn't start in my homedir, as I expect, it starts in the root dir.
This breaks scripts I have; and basically falls under the same rule I wrote in my initial submission that settings should never be autosaved without the user actively ok-ing to that.
