Both good suggestions!  I really like the zoom idea.  I'll talk it over
with the team when I get back to the office and we'll see what people

Some suggestions:

1) Like other places in the site, chop off with ellipsis and use  
mouseover to show the full amount in a tooltip.

2) Make the squares look more like cards, and provide a little zoom  
button on the card that pops up more information in a popup, rather  
than leave the page.

RT #78677: Profile information being cut off on Members tab
Profile information for users on the Members tab in communities is
getting cut off, sometimes by just a letter or 2 (see any members page,
for example:
https://karl.soros.org/communities/board-orientation-2010/members). Is
there a way to get the full profile information to appear without
messing up the formatting on the page? It looks very strange to have
"Open Society Instut" or "Latin America Progra". What are our options to
deal with this?
