Bug Description

Going from "traditional" joe to jupp, the one thing I'm really missing is the ~/.joe_state file, which remembers things like search expressions, and where the cursor was in various files, so that if I exit and come back, it leaves me more or less where I was.

No, never. This absolutely stands against everything I’m about.

Also, it’s a privacy invasion.

Wow ... that is a staggering level of paranoia. Are you against ~/.bash_history and browser history and cache too? I never thought of files I wilfully store in my home directory as a privacy problem.

But, your project, your call, my choice to apt-get remove.

Not that I use GNU bash, but yes, I “unset HISTFILE” too.

There’s also other reasons… stand-alone-ness, no cluttering anything, etc. but of course, if you can’t live with it at all… then jupp is not for you, I guess.
