Bug Description

Hello

I have had a controller up and running for 3 days now and i had rebooted this machine twice with no problems when it was back online . Today i had to reboot it once more and i got this error

internal error, please report: running "juju" failed: cannot find installed snap "juju" at revision 6012: missing file /snap/juju/6012/meta/snap.yaml

i checked and /meta/snap.yaml is in fact missing . I then removed juju and reinstalled it and it is now working .

I am on ubuntu 16.04 and juju --version
2.4.7-xenial-amd64

i dont know if this is a bug or not so i thought i'd report it

The error you have is out of the Juju client which is deployed as a snap. I'm going to guess that you had some sort of snap upgrade issue and it's unrelated to rebooting the controller as it does not use a snap for any part of its operations currently.

Can you specify what you see for snap info juju and verify the version on the controller "juju show-controller". My guess is that the controller was 2.4.6, you got a 2.4.7 snap upgrade, and that upgrade somehow didn't complete successfully.

Changed in juju:
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → High
importance: High → Low
