firewaller fails to find nova instances in VERIFY_RESIZE state

Hi,

juju 2.3.7.

I had the following in my logs :

ERROR juju.worker.dependency engine.go:551 "firewaller" manifold worker returned unexpected error: cannot respond to units changes for "machine-114": instances not found

First, the error should at least give the model UUID of the machine it's looking for.

The root cause of this error is that the instance got resized, but we didn't verify the resize so its nova status was "VERIFY_RESIZE". As soon as I confirmed the resize ("nova confirm-resize <uuid>"), the status went back to ACTIVE and the error went away.

The firewaller (and juju in general, probably) should be fixed to handle instances in "VERIFY_RESIZE" status properly.
