Shared storage should be implemented

According to https://jujucharms.com/docs/2.0/developer-storage#future-work shared storage is not implemented but is planned. This (along with persistent storage) is an important storage feature.

Is there a timeline on this feature?

It seems from https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju/+bug/1592887 that persistent storage is currently targeted for 2.1.0. Would it be reasonable to include support for shared storage at the same time, or is there enough additional work that it would have to be targeted later?

It would be targeted later. Can you give some of the concrete use cases around this to help us prioritize the work?

The use-case for this would be the same as any where you could use a storage charm but want to use Juju modeled storage backed by the cloud provider rather than a deployed service.

For a more concrete example, in order to scale the cwr-ci bundle, we need to have a shared location to store and update the consolidated report. As it stands, we'd need to use something like an NFS charm to provide that and couldn't leverage provider storage (or would have to layer NFS over top of provider storage, which seems inefficient).
