cinder fails with badRequest... "Invalid input for field/attribute device"

Reported by a user, Juju volumes are failing to attach in his OpenStack. The logs contain the following:

2016-10-25 13:04:57 DEBUG juju.worker.storageprovisioner volume_ops.go:172 failed to attach volume 7 to machine 29: failed to attach volume
caused by: request (http://192.168.0.24:8774/v2/8f4d995e639c442284908a6eada7c9ce/servers/c5e9b1aa-2ff1-4394-aa29-ec3d4de9f081/os-volume_attachments) returned unexpected status: 400; error info: {"badRequest": {"message": "Invalid input for field/attribute device. Value: . u'' does not match '(^/dev/x{0,1}[a-z]{0,1}d{0,1})([a-z]+)[0-9]*$'", "code": 400}}

We should be omitting the "device" field in os-volume-attachment requests.
