Bug Description

The script in the MAAS provider only works for interfaces(5) files that are debian-based. When a node is bootstrapped a script runs as part of cloud-init that adds bridges to configured interfaces. If the node that is being bootstrapped in anything but ubuntu this script will not work.

Removing 2.1 milestone as we will not be addressing this issue in 2.1.

Has this been addressed for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver)? I know it was just released but the ifconfig based settings have been removed by default bionic and now uses netplan.

I've have yet to test this, but I will today. If it's an issue it might have to be pushed to a higher priority due to 18.04 being the defacto server distro for the next 5 years

We have some support already around netplan and bionic and bridging. It is
known somewhat incomplete (there is a separate bug for supporting bridging
of bonds).

I believe this has been reworked and fixed since 2016. Marking the bug now as invalid.
