else its rather tedious to copy a file/script to an environment (ie for use by juju run)

I'd like to echo this request.

Use case:

push a file to all units of application A and then use that file in a follow-up command (like firmware updates)

juju scp <filename> applicationA:
juju run --application applicationA 'do something with <filename>'

This is a very common day 2 pattern when addressing issues ad-hoc between charm release cycles as well as items that are not charmed such as firmware upgrades.
