Bug Description
I would like there to be a way to retrieve the compiler that compiled juju, jujud.
The suggestion is to add this to the output of juju version, something like
% juju version
1.17.0-saucy-amd64 (gccgo)
There are probably some compatability concerns

Our experience has been that stable releases aren't really *that* up to date (official releases are roughly 1/month that's a pretty long gap between security updates, etc). What is the goal of avoiding the apt-get update? Just time spent starting up?
