Bug Description

The name "restore" is misleading, implying capabilities that it does not provider. "recover" accurately communicates the behavior. Other possible names include "rebuild".

Note that the name "restore" cannot be removed, since that would break backwards-compatibility, but it could be deprecated.

NM, the original message talked about "restore", not "backups restore". I believe that renaming "backups restore" to "backups recover" would not break backwards compatibility.

I'm closing this. We can live with "restore" and just make sure to document it well. Finding a name the sends the right message hasn't worked out. Furthermore, the name "backups" is already sufficiently ambiguous that renaming "restore" won't be a huge win.

Ideally "backups" would have been called "state-backup" or something similarly explicit.
