bootstrap rootdisk full - need to compress rotated logs

The Juju stat server is producing 500MB logs that are getting rotated by why aren't they getting compressed? I have 4+GB of logs on this machine:

Seems to be a known limitation of gopkg.in/natefinch/lumberjack.v2
