Bug Description

Description by stuartl:

It's not currently possible to drag a clip from one instrument to another. It should be.

(Discussion: should it really be? If a clip is in one instrument then moving it to another is a bit weird; anything that's on, say, a Guitar shouldn't go onto, say, Drums (because it's a guitar clip!). While restricting things this way would be a real pain for users, allowing it does sort of break the Instruments model.)

at the very least, Jokosher ought to allow for moving a clip between two of the same type instruments. For example, moving a clip for one "Vocal" to another "Vocal".

If this is a feature that we want to implement perhaps we could have the software create a "Multiple Instruments" instrument when the source and destination instruments are of a different type. We could have the event box colour-code the waveforms or outline to show where the different instruments are in the timeline.

Here is a use case.

I import three audio files at the same time. They are all put right one after another in the same "instrument". I instead want it to be three separate "audio tracks" ("audio file instruments"?) to allow some cool mixing.

The only way to do that currently is to create two audio instruments, cut and paste the files from one instrument to another. Not intuitive, and it defeats the instrument model *any way*, so might as well just allow dragging from an instrument to another.
