Toolbar doesn't obey GNOME desktop-wide settings

Bug #116474 reported by Jorge Castro on 2007-05-23

Bug Description

The GNOME Menu and Toolbar preferences lets you set settings like "Icons only" or "Text beside icons" globally for all GNOME apps, but Jokosher seems to only ever show "Text below icons". On a lower resolution screen (Like when editing/recording on a laptop) I end up with alot of wasted screen real estate for the toolbar which could be used for more track space, etc.

Does anyone know how to fix this. I though it was just supposed to happen automagically, but it must have something to do with the undocumented pygnome module.

This can be achieved by making MainApp as subclass of gnome.Program, but it won't recude the size of the tool bar due to the workspace buttons.

I am providing a simple fix in bug #117478.

here is a one-liner patch that fixes this problem. Please accept it :)

You just have to watch out so that Glade doesn't add that stupid option back!

Thanks for the patch. We just have to remember that everytime you save the glade file with glade-2 it will revert the settings, so we need to keep our eyes open, and manually edit the glade file everytime it is changed.

Looks like the version in Hardy got this reverted or something because this bug is back.
