Bug Description
If you install NVIDIA 177 with jockey, then switch to 173, it forgets to "rmmod nvidia" for the 177 version and you get this error (and X will not start):
[29098.947853] NVRM: API mismatch: the client has the version 173.14.12, but
[29098.947855] NVRM: this kernel module has the version 177.80. Please
[29098.947856] NVRM: make sure that this kernel module and all NVIDIA driver
[29098.947857] NVRM: components have the same version.
"sudo rmmod nvidia && sudo modprobe nvidia" then restarting X fixes the problem.

Didn't it show that you need to reboot after changing the driver? I really don't want to use rmmod, since that has the potential of crashing the kernel, and it doesn't even work if the driver is currently in use.
