Please backport nicotine+ 1.2.12 from Karmic to Jaunty

Nicotine+ has been upgraded to 1.2.12 in Karmic, but a 2 years old version exists in Jaunty. Please backport to Jaunty.

I downloaded nicotine+ 1.2.12 from SourceForge and ran it without any modifications or problems in Jaunty.

it seems we are lucky here: the only depends we may want to check are:

python-support (needed is >= 0.4 ) and we have 0.8 in jaunty
python-gtk2 (needed is >= 2.10) and we have 2.14 in jaunty

I've sent this package to build in my ppa, and then if it builds fine I'll move it to the backporters ppa. Then we will need 3 ppl testing the package before I can upload it to jaunty-backports.

it built fine, I've pushed it to the backporters PPA. Now we need 3 more ppl to test it for me to upload it to jaunty-backports. (unfortunately I don't have an handy jaunty installation here)

just intalled it on kubuntu and the package is missing a dependency for python-glade2

some thoughts:

1) I saw we sync this package directly from unstable, so there is no python-glade2 dep. Then I'm wondering why no one ever reported it does *not* work on Kubuntu yet. Maybe because it's a GTK2 application so it shouldnt be designed for kde.

2) the debdiff is wrong, you should make it debdiffing your package and the one available in karmic archives.

3) the version should be 1.2.12+dfsg-1~jaunty1 not 1.2.12+dfsg-1~jaunty1~ppa2

4) you should close this bug into the changelog (with LP: xxxxx) plus you should specify you are making a backport writing * Backport to jaunty (LP: xxxxx) and under that your changes.

Anyway I wanna be really sure that dependency is really needed.

yeah, you were right. On kde it does *not* work without the python-glade2, we should have this fixed on karmic as well.
Would you mind opening a bug against nicotine asking to have this fixed?

I've opened the bug and gonna fix it really soon, so we won't need any debdiff for the backport, it should work fine without adjusting any depends.
